Lythic Solutions can give new life to an existing concrete slab and help make it into an attractive, durable flooring solution. Old concrete, even cracked concrete, can be successfully polished, and use of Lythic Solutions chemistry by a qualified practitioner will yield the best possible result.
Our suite of polishing and maintenance products – Lythic™ Densifier, Lythic™ Protector, and Lythic™ Cleaner – produces and protects a better concrete surface more quickly, easily and economically. Lythic chemistry eliminates the overnight waiting and messy cleanup required by other densifying products, speeding up the schedule on remodels and minimizing the disruption of business on floor refinishes. The improved surface becomes more stain-, abrasion- and abuse-resistant. The highly efficient chemical reaction helps minimize or eliminate efflorescence (the unsightly white powder that sometimes forms on concrete surfaces). Moreover, Lythic Densifier has a low pH formula that is safer for your jobsite, your workers, and the planet.

LYTHIC DENSIFIER
Lythic Densifier is a clean, safe, highly reactive densifying agent based on Colloidal Silica. It will perform with slabs that are decades old, taking advantage of chemical residues that have been locked in the concrete since it was cast, and turning them into new cementitious material that hardens and densifies the concrete surface.
          Existing concrete should be ground to necessary flatness and desired depth first. Lythic Densifier is then applied simply by spraying on until the surface layer of the slab is saturated. It begins reacting immediately, and there is nothing to remove afterwards. The slab is ready for polishing within one hour. (This is an important, time-saving and safety improvement over conventional products, which must be scrubbed into the surface for one hour, and then left to react over night. Older products produce a caustic chemical slurry that must be scrubbed off the following day, and disposed of as a hazardous material.)
          Lythic Densifier fills in the pore structure of the concrete's surface layer, making it denser and harder. The slab takes a polish quickly and beautifully. The highly dense concrete surface is more resistant to stains, eliminating the need for sealers.
          Practitioners in the field report that Lythic Densifier has been used to "rescue" concrete that was in marginal condition.

Lythic Densifier is a green product that contains no harsh chemical solvents and emits no Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's). Its low alkalinity (pH approx 8.7) is only slightly higher than baking soda. Get Lythic Densifier MSDS

LYTHIC PROTECTOR
Lythic Protector is applied after polishing. It introduces additional Colloidal Silica to the slab, along with a thin, clear polymer layer that gives additional protection to the slab surface. It enhances the color of pigmented, stained or dyed concrete. It provides extra protection against accidental staining from spills. It is particularly useful against mild acids, such as might be encountered in environments where food is handled or served. LYTHIC CLEANER
Lythic Cleaner combines cleaning action with Colloidal Silica. It adds extra protection to the concrete surface while it cleans. It is recommended to use it as part of regular building maintenance for maximum value. Get Lythic Cleaner MSDS
