ON NEW CONCRETE

Lythic Solutions products start a new concrete slab off right. Our suite of polishing and maintenance products – Lythic™ Densifier, Lythic™ Protector, and Lythic™ Cleaner – produces and protects a better concrete surface more quickly, easily and economically. The improved surface becomes more stain-, abrasion- and abuse-resistant. The highly efficient Colloidal Silica chemical reaction helps minimize or eliminate efflorescence (the unsightly white powder that sometimes forms on concrete surfaces). Moreover, Lythic Densifier has a low pH formula that is safer for your jobsite, your workers, and the planet.

LYTHIC DENSIFIER
New concrete cannot be ground and polished until it has cured for 28 days. However, with Lythic Densifier, densifying can begin the day the slab is poured. Lythic Densifier is a clean, safe, highly reactive densifying agent based on Colloidal Silica. It is simply sprayed on until the surface layer of the slab is saturated. It can be applied while the new concrete is still wet, or at any time during or after the curing period. (This is an important, time-saving improvement over conventional products, which must be scrubbed into the surface, and can't be applied until the slab is cured, adding wait-time before polishing.)
Lythic Densifier fills in the pore structure of the concrete's surface layer, making it denser, harder, and resistant to liquid penetration. If Lythic Densifer is applied while the slab is curing, then it is ready for grinding and polishing as soon as the concrete curing period elapses. If Lythic Densifier is applied after the slab has cured, it needs only one hour set-time before polishing can begin. Once applied, it does not need to be removed before polishing. (This is a major difference from old-fashioned densifying materials that must react overnight, and produce a chemical slurry byproduct that must be scrubbed off and disposed of as a hazardous material.) The Lythic-densified slab takes a polish quickly and beautifully. The highly dense concrete surface is more resistant to stains, eliminating the need for sealers.

Lythic Densifier is a green product that contains no harsh chemical solvents and emits no Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). Its low alkalinity (pH approx 8.7) is only slightly higher than baking soda. Get Lythic Densifier MSDS

LYTHIC PROTECTOR
Lythic Protector is applied after polishing. It introduces additional Colloidal Silica to the slab, along with a thin, clear polymer layer that gives additional protection to the slab surface. It enhances the color of pigmented, stained or dyed concrete. It provides extra protection against accidental staining from spills. It is particularly useful against mild acids, such as might be encountered in environments where food is handled or served. LYTHIC CLEANER
Lythic Cleaner combines cleaning action with Colloidal Silica. It adds extra protection to the concrete surface while it cleans. It is particularly useful for newer concrete, to react with lime that may migrate to the surface from deep within the slab.
